If You Want to Grow Your Podcast, You Need Better Data

One of the biggest challenges facing you as a podcaster when it comes to growing your show is the limited ability to understand where your downloads are actually coming from.

Sure, most hosting providers offer geographic and even device and operating system data. This is useful in some cases, but what is essential when using the scientific method of marketing to grow your podcast, is to be able to see which promotional channels are actually driving clicks and downloads.

So how do you get this data?

Access Unique Attribution with Chartable SmartLinks

In a nutshell, unique attribution is just a fancy way of describing exactly what we’ve been talking about–having granular data for each platform on which you’re promoting your show.

The easiest way to get this unique attribution is using a tool like SmartLinks from Chartable to create custom links for each of the platforms you use to promote your episodes.

If you typically post your episodes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and in your newsletter, you would create four SmartLinks for each episode and post one on each channel.
